One of the Planning Commissions funcitions is to safeguard the life, health and property of Rogers County residents through the application of uniform building standards. These standards involve design, materials, construction, use, occupancy, and the location of all buildings and structures within the jurisdiction of the Planning Commission in the unincorporated areas of the County. The Planning Commission strives to implement these standards in a fair and consistent fashion while maintaining an open dialogue with the various building trades. Plan reviews, permits and inspections for structural, electrical, plumbing and mechanical as well as miscellaneous items are provided through the Planning Commission. The Planning Commission additionally provides code enforcement by providing follow-up on complaints of zoning and building code violations registered within the Planning Commission.
Rogers County takes pride in the health, safety, welfare, and appearance of our community. Every individual property owners maintenance contributes to the overall positive appearance of the neighborhood and our community. Code Enforcement is in place for inspecting and enforcing the City of Claremore and Rogers County Metropolitian Area Planning Commission Ordinances. Code Enforcement responds to complaints and determines if a code violation exists. If a violation exists, the responsible party is contacted and given a specific time frame to correct the violation. Complying and remaining in good standing over six months results in the case being dismissed and eliminate the need for further action. Failure to comply could result in a fine up to $500,000 or a year in jail. If you wish to submit a complaint, please call 918-923-4874 or email planning@rogerscounty.org
